Why is wowowee popular in the filipino communities in US?

They aired an episode in Reno, and it was packed! 2 years ago at the Philippine festival in Honolulu, Willy was there and the whole place was packed!
Why the obsession with Wowoowee? To me, it looks like "Star Search" and Let's Make a Deal" combined: two things that I don't watch.
I just like looking at the dancers, but I wouldn't buy tickets or subscribe to abs-cbn just for.

because wowowee is a mass variety show that gives entertainment and help many people especially poor contestants who joins and have a chance to show their talents and win lots of prizes… this show is not an ordinary game show its like giving a charity for those who in need.. thats why all filipino subscribers are hook on this because some of them relate to it and touch their life in every contestants who share great roller coaster story of life… also this show faced lot of controversies nowadays but still they earn lot of support from the viewers

No doubt about it, another Religion will be added soon. Prepare to be hypnotized, i mean enlightened or delighted or bewildered. Ahahah! Girls wearing almost bare clothes and broken spirited contestants? WHUT A COMBINATION!!!?This is how TV works but not for me. It sucks HARD! I prefer BATIBOT DAYS!
It is nice always to watch Filipino movies or shows. One more reason is, I think as of now, it is only ABS-CBN being aired in pay-for-view tv in various countries. The fact that you mentioned, very popular really.
