I am trying to find out too, she’s playing dumb in the show. In few more months , she will be popular like Luningning.
RR is an acronym for “Raring ro Rise”, or a “Rara Avis”. a rare bird who discovered that dumbness is not identical with stupidity. On the contrary, she is wise to have exploited that reputation and now she up there as a co-host where she belongs. You know what?, among the co-hosts of Willie, it’s Marielle who is the least talented: she can’t sing, she can not do the giling-giling properly, she has two left feet. However, her greatest talent is her ability to stare at the eye of the camera the longest without blinking an eye. What a talent.
It is not wrong for Willie to invite Basureros and Basurera, give them their fifteen minutes of fame, listen to their pathetic lives, and then hand them thousands of money. What is wrong is out of the hundreds of these poor garbage collectors, Wowowee can only accommodate 6 lucky ones. While Willie and the audience were visibly touched by the sad stories of these people, they received neither advice nor suggestions how they could improve their lot and get out of their miserable lot. It seemed that money was all that mattered to help them- like prescribing Tylenol in stead of the right anti-biotic. I hope that one of Willie’s hosts will express the most suitable MOTTO for these poor hapless people who thrive on garbage: “My Motto for today is (Bow) Huwag bigyan ng isda and mahihirap; turuan sila ng Mang-isda” (Bow). Mabuhay ang Wowowee!
(1) In stead of expensive jackets, Wowowee caps or visors can be mass produced as give-aways. More caps mean more happy fans of Wowowee, Besides, a cap is handier than a jacket and can be worn on any weather.
(2) I suggest an on the spot “Binibining Balikbayan” segment, Choose from the audience a number of attractive unknown Balikbayab guests. Like in a beauty contest, these girls will parade, they’ll be asked a couple of questions, show the audience their talent, if any. From their looks and audience appeal and how they fare in the interview and talent portion, a Binibining Balikbayan will be chosen BB of the Day, of the Week, Month, etc.- just like the quest for Miss Fitrum. The number of daily contestants will vary daily depending on the presence of potential candidates.
Additional suggestions:
1.Willie should also give his music mwn their fifteen minutes of fame. These young guys have been providing the show instant sound effects and musical accompaninet, aside the “Questune” portion. TV viewers only know their music and expertise but who they do are, their names, no one knows. (2) Do the same of the lesser known Wowowee dancers. Unless there is reason to keep their identities, why not introduce these dancers not as dancers but as girls. Are they students, married with kids, new?, etc.
SHOWTIME is catching up with Wowowee. If Wowowee’s format is chaotic, Showtime’s is pandemonium. It’s definitely a blast. However, while Showtime caters to the young generation as evidenced by mostly young group performers and mostly young studio audience, a cross section of society and a number of elderly audince constitute that of Wowowee. Showtime appeals to the young, Wowowee appeals to any age. Both are super-entertainment.
Suggestion: when there are only 2 left contestants on the Hep hep Hooray game, join na lang sila. Kasi madalas kung minsan ang hosts, lalo na si marielle siya mismo di alam kung sino ang tama o mali. It’s unfair to the contestants when the hosts could find any mistakeand the game get boring na. Solution? Join na lang yung 2, (50-50) in the prize money, if any.
“HEP HEP HURRAY” is only an interesting “Focus” game of Wowowee but it is not played fairly. A straight-line formation gives the extreme left and the extreme right contestant undue advantage because each has only one person to reckon with where as the rest have two (the left and the right) to focus on. To level the playing field, the contestants should make a circle formation and the host stays in the middle. In a circular formation the host can point to any direction unlike in a straight where a contestant can more or less expect to be pointed at.
IS WILLIE AN IMPREGNABLE FORTRESS?
IS WILLIE NOW AN IMPREGNABLE FORTRESS? He is an accomplished celebrity, wealthy, and well-loved by millions of fans worldwide. Yet he claims he’s like a nocturnal lonely wolf, despite the bevy of seductive women surrounding him and his yachts- like the two perks were not inclusive of the other. But this is only on subject of the heart. How about his psyche? How does he manage his anger, his emotions, and his natural human urges? None of my business, of course.
However, as a Kapamilya, I suggest the following to Willie: (1) In dealing with foreigners, he should know “a little something” on the countries they come from The Opera house and the Kangaroos in Australia; the French influence in Canada; the great artists like the blind Bocelli, de Vinci (Mona Lisa) and Michelangelo of Italy; that Hawaii is the last State to annex to
the USA; the A Salah Maleikum greeting and “Shawarma” among M.E. countries. I’m not saying that Willie should go back to school. I’m saying that as a popular host worldwide, he should also be equally well-versed on the culture and landmarks of these few countries where Wowowee visitors usually come from. So that in meeting these visitors, Willie can ask a question or two from them. WHY? because Willie is a Filipino who can be a good role model for our country. So, he should be able to say :you’re a good sport, how do you find/like the Philippines?How’s the wife? from foreigners. Madalas kasi, nababara si Willie because he knows nothing about these countries.I am only after the good of Willie and his program.
